Regardless of our beliefs about when, how, or with whom to engage in sexual activity, we all need to understand what constitutes a healthy approach both emotionally and physically.
The beauty of comprehensive sex education resides in its ability to provide children with accurate information about sex, all while allowing parents to impart their values. It is a crucial aspect of education that emphasizes the importance of healthy relationships and a thorough understanding of our bodies, both physically and psychologically. And, it is equally important for everyone, including those who choose to wait until marriage to embark on their sexual journey.
Sex education builds upon concepts gradually over the life cycle of a student. The purpose is not to replace the role of parents in having these conversations but rather seeks to enhance and support those discussions that parents have at home. Over the years, I've come to believe strongly in the idea that we can integrate religious values with accurate sex information. Even people of faith can benefit greatly from sex education.
