Mother earth needs us?

We are about to celebrate Earth Day, a date designated by the United Nations through a resolution adopted by the General Assembly. However, we would like to reflect with you: is it enough to assign a date to raise awareness about the place we inhabit? Is it really necessary? Mother earth needs us?

Mother Earth, in her infinite intelligence and wisdom, follows her cycles and adapts to universal conditions. It is a truly beautiful and diverse home in itself, and we humans are part of this perfection. We wonder if assigning a special date for the Earth really drives us to make significant changes to better adapt to nature, or if rather every year global organizations show us alarming statistics: the increase in the Earth's temperature, the growing air pollution, the irreversible extinction of animals and species, the uncontrollable exploitation of territories by governments, the depletion of freshwater sources, the warming of the seas, among other problems. In addition, we are facing the reality that we humans are not making the necessary changes to guarantee our survival in this perfect place for decades and centuries to come.

So, what actions can we take at a time when it seems that, year after year, we are not progressing? Instead of moving forward, we observe a regression as a species. We should reflect on how we can be more compassionate and aware of the place in which we live: our home, which nurtures us and allows us to exist. At times, we focus solely on caring for what brings us happiness as individuals, but we neglect our responsibility as a collective species. How much are each of us contributing to protect our home? What are those small actions we take on a daily basis? And, more importantly, how can we motivate our friends and family to join us in adopting these small changes?

We want to invite you to go back to your heart and to the faith you feel closest to, and ask yourself prayerfully:
Where does our food come from?
Who has access to clean water today?
Does anyone look in my garbage?
YOU and ME , ALL of us are responsible
for pausing and thinking about that....
You are a special snowflake created by God in His image and likeness -
lucky you ....
And also, you are a part of this KINGDOM that God has raised up to be responsible for EVERYTHING that has the breath of God in it.
So how are you going to bring that kingdom in today?
How has God paved the way for you to do THAT today?
Wherever we are, we are not alone, so we ARE responsible.
How can you honor the life around you today?

With these reflections and with many questions we want to commemorate a day, which we can say, and we affirm it with certainty, from today I will contribute to the welfare of the planet, and every action I take is a commitment to Life and Creation that sustains my existence.
